Bermuda is a British Overseas Territory located off the east coat of the United States, 1000 miles north of the Caribbean. Easily reached by a BA direct flight from the UK in just 7 hours it’s no wonder that people love this paradise Island. The island itself is just 22 miles long and 2 miles wide at the widest point. Bermuda offers a wealth of activities and places of interest so there really is something for everyone.
With 75 miles of coastline the beaches offer the unique pink sand with stunning blue sea. Most of them are edged with beautiful flowers and Hedgerows. Bermuda is sold as a destination all year round with the best time to visit between April and November. Car hire is not permitted on the island however it is very easy to get around by using the local buses, ferries or hiring a scooter. The currency is the Bermudan Dollar however US Dollars are widely accepted.
With a wealth of holiday accommodation available you will be spoilt on where to stay. We stayed at the beautiful 5 Star Hotel, Rosewood at Tuckers Point. Located just 15 minutes from the airport it offers a fantastic location on the waterfront. The rooms are extremely spacious with wonderful views of the ocean. The beachclub offers a long stretch of sandy beach with two swimming pools, a restaurant and a bar. The hotel offers golf with it’s own 18 hole golf course, a tennis club and a watersports centre. You might prefer to pamper yourself in the Spa where you can indulge in an array of treatments. Whilst in Bermuda you must not miss out on visiting the City of Hamilton, with its beautiful harbour and an abundance of restaurants, bars and boutique shops. A must is the Royal Navy Dockyard which offers several attractions including the Maritime Museum and Dolphin Quest, Arts Centre, Glassworks, Local Rum Cake shop & Segway centre. Golf enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice with several golf courses on the island. Why not try horse riding on the beach for something completely different, it truly is a wonderful experience. The Crystal Caves offer beautiful formations of stalagmites and stalactites so make sure you take your camera. Bermuda also offers a wonderful Aquarium, Museum & Zoo with over 100 species of fish, a variety of birds, reptiles and mammals.
